Picking and cooking wild mushrooms is a national obsession in Sweden. The season runs from July to October, and generally speaking a wet but warm summer is best for mushrooms. The forests around Sandvik have many varieties and if you’re inexperienced you are advised to buy a mushroom guidebook first.

We go every year to pick Chantarelles, Black trumpet mushrooms and Porcini. The best places to pick are a well guarded secret—but ask us and we’ll help!
